... me and tribeca.
this is a little place on the south side of manhattan just above the lower east side. me an tribeca had a little thing going for a few weeks. i almost left my current love (san pedro / long beach). i actually would have, but the job sitch just wasnt there. sadly enough. i spent quite a few nights in the BKLYN, i really freakin dig that lil neighborhood. although not many manhattanites really share that opinion with me :) i heart NY.

... friends ... how many of us have them? i think HOUDINI said it best. that song said it in a way that cannot be denied. we all run in packs, be it our co-workers, band mates, tagging crew, or church, we all need to be around the like minded. well, my friends and i are the same. we are all very like minded, but where does that end, and the concept of the "rugged individual" come in to play in my life? at some point do we become more individual or do we become more dependant on our clan? the picture (on the left)orginaly conjured ideas of parties and summer fun but then quickly moved away and into the questions that i have just posed. pictures are truely worth a 1000 words.

... this is a good one.
this is Mr.T, a gold fish from seal beach california. he was a good guy. he had a good alert, fishy quality to him, plus he loved to blow mad bubbles. he lived in a vase and had a swanky paint job. i'll add more later ...

... this picture was from 2000, a few summers ago. its taken at sunset beach, just south of the LA / Orange county line. this is and always has been my favorite beach around here by far. i have been surfing those waves for 20 years now. this particular summer was good. my gal and i were in top form, my friends and i all had light work scheduals and the world seemed to have an 'all you can eat' feeling to it. these were the salad bar days of 2000.
... in the beginning there was darkness, and when that light was flipped on and the the glory of vision was passed to the common man there was only one trhing to say. we're fucked.

It has never been my strong suit. For the longest time there has been this aire of unreality in my career. The idea of a fun and irreverant career in the commercial design world. Well these days that has been coming to a head. Bringing up this question; Do I go with the flow or resign myself to the idea of 'Fun doesnt pay!'? What would you do? I myself am the kind of guy who just waits for the boat to sink before i jump off. That has not always went the way it should have. FUN vs. LIFE. The battle of the century!
