all things considered the state of affairs in the dark harbor could be worse. the fog that rolled in from the sea this morning could have been thicker. the tanker could have been traveling just a bit more to it's left. the pleasure craft could have arived a little earlier from out of the storm.

none of these things happened ...

... and things indeed did turn out to be quite tragic. there are bosses to calm and families to call today.
